The tablet market has witnessed a tremendous surge of late and during the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona, various vendors unveiled several tablets several of which were powered by Android OS from Google.
Now if reports from Yonhap News Agency are to be believed, Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung is planning to come out with an 8.9 inches Android tablet which is expected to hit the market during the first quarter of 2011.
Tablet Can Hit Korean Markets Next Month
Yonhap News Agency has accredited this information to a spokesperson of Samsung saying that the tablet will be released in the worldwide market via mobile operators. Other media agencies in Korea have said that the tablet can hit Korean market early next month. But this claim seems to be pretty weak considering the fact that the name of the tablet has yet not been finalized.
It is to be noted that with iPad revolution has given tremendous boost to the tablet market with sales of 7 and 10 inch tablets soaring high. The success of Samsung Galaxy Tab running on Android has further fuelled the demand for Android based tablets among users. No information regarding the resolution of the tablet was given.
