Install Android 2.3.4 GINGERBREAD XXJVP Rom In SAMSUNG GALAXY S

Samsung Galaxy S users find themselves again in Luck because there is a new update Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread (XXJVP) for Samsung Galaxy S. Previously; we have a complete guide to install Android 2.3.2 and Android 2.3.3 (XXJVK) on Samsung Galaxy S. A new version XWJVH Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread ROM is leaked for the Samsung Galaxy s i9000. This version is said to be more stable and smooth. Gingerbread was announced for the Android Devices of latest Version but luckily the Dev team On XDA-Developers is able to Update Samsung galaxy SI9000 to Gingerbread 2.3.4.

               

One thing should be noted that it is neither Cyanogen mod version nor any other custom firmware; it is just an official firmware which is leaked and will be available for Galaxy soon. The best thing about this guide is that by using it you can flash this ROM to another previous ROM, it doesn’t matter either it is 2.1 or 2.2/2.3.3

Pre-rooting Instructions:

  • This will VOID your warranty, though the warranty can be claimed after un rooting the device.
  • This is a Factory-Reset for your Tablet. So you can Sync your Contacts with Google Contact service or Backup rest of messages, Phone by using MyBackup Pro. Make sure to copy the Contents of SD card to your PC as it will remove the cache from your Memory card.
  • Ensure that you have installed the KIES on your Device and it should be the latest Kies which is debuted as KiES2.
  • Before proceeding Please ensure that your Phone has at least 50% battery so that it can’t interrupt the rooting process.
  • Some guys are reporting that No internet connection after Updating, as the rooting process it will wipe your cache, so all your APN settings will also be reset. Contact your Service provider to get more information about APN settings or you can write down your settings to get them again working on your Device

  • Ensure that you have closed the KIES completely and also disable any firewalls, antivirus if any.

Procedure:

Download and Extract the .zip file (Zip file of Gingerbread 2.3.4) on your Desktop. Password for this file is AndroidAdvices.com (thanks to Androidadvices)
Switch off your Samsung Galaxy S i9000
Put the phone into “Download mode”. To do it, press and hold “Volume Down” button, “Power” button, and “Home” key simultaneously for few seconds. It should boot into “Download Mode” in which you will see a yellow android character with a sweeper with “DON’T TURN OFF THE TARGET” message.

Connect your Device with PC and run the ODIN which was extracted previous on your Desktop. You will see the A box will be turned to yellow.




After the box is turned to be yellow Click on the Following buttons and select the files from extracted previously
PIT- s1_odin_20100512.pit
Phone – MODEM_I9000XXJVP_REV_00_CL1019177.tar.md5
PDA – CODE_I9000XXJVP_CL264642_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
CSC – GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVP.tar.md5




After checking all these files, click on Start and it will start updating firmware on your Galaxy S. it will not take more than 5 mins. After successful installation, your Phone will be rebooted.



After rebooting, Switch off your Phone and then switch on while long press the volume up key, press Menu as holding both the buttons press the power button to start. You phone will be booted in recovery mode. Select Wipe data/factory reset, after that select Wipe Cache partition. After that select reboot system now. This will remove all extra and unwanted files on your Phone and your Phone will be rebooted.

You have successfully updated your Samsung galaxy to 2.3.4 XXJVP..
